APRIL SUN – JOLYON PETCH & SAM HILL ft RIQI HARAWIRA
Jolyon Petch & Sam Hill have been Dj’ing together for over 10 years but it wasn’t till they started making music with each other in 2009 that things really started to heat up for them. The pair were performing together at the innaugural Auckland Beer festival event and wanted to make a song for the night that New Zealander’s would relate too. The outcome was an upbeat dance version of the The ‘Dudes Iconic anthem “Bliss” which was originally penned in the 70’s by Dave Dobbyn & Peter Urlich. Bliss 2010 was officially released on Club Luxury Records.
It immediately shot up the Itunes Dance Charts and overnight hit the #3 postion before taking over the
#2 position under Global Mega Hit Producer David Guetta. The song also charted in the Australian Aria
Dance Charts with their highest placing of #30 in the Top 100 club tunes and was played on radio stations around the
globe and also featured on Air NZ inflight entertainment systems.
Their next single “April Sun” is a collaboration with Singer/songwriter Riqi Harawira (Ex Dead Flowers), and they take on the mighty Dragon Anthem “April Sun in Cuba”. Their version brings this classic up to date 30 years later for modern dancefloors to enjoy.
Jolyon & Sam have invited Riqi to perform there new single LIVE at the upcoming Pukekohe 500 International – Race by Day, Party by Night Concert on Saturday October 27th. They will be performing after Legendary Kiwi Bands “The Feelers” & “The Jordan Luck Band”.
